This was a Dry rot outbreak in a grade 2 listed buildings basement in Lincoln
This dry rot outbreak was quite unique. The outbreak had started in an unventilated basement with no natural light.
The floors we’re original quarry tiles laid on earth, so there was a nice source of moisture for the outbreak to start.
Just to make matters more interesting the room was the buildings switch room, which housed all the incoming electrical cables (3 phase) and distribution boards!
For us to carry out the treatment works we had to have the power to the building isolated at the adjacent sub station and carry out the works on a weekend including working through the night to enable the building to be put back into use for the monday morning.
