Ground Gas Protection

We are one of the UK’s leading ground gas membrane installers

We also offer a full detail design service in addition to supply and installation

Characteristic gas situation 1 to Characteristic gas situation 4 as per BS8485:2015 + A1:2019

NHBC Amber 1 to Red as per NHBC Guidance

All installations are to LABC and NHBC warranty standards

Level 2 NVQ Diploma – Installation of Gas membranes qualified operatives

We install all types of gas protection

As NVQ qualified installers, Cook Group will not only speed up the installation process, we can also offer a cost saving to you directly – as often less verification visits are required to discharge the planning conditions when measures are installed by NVQ technicians.

Here’s the important part – We know what our responsibilities are and most importantly what yours are, unlike some other so called ‘experts’ we’ll guide you through the process, from initial design through to discharging your planning condition.

Gas Resistant Membranes

Gas resistant membranes are by far the most common gas protection measures utilized in industry.

We can install any membrane specified, whether by a detail design or client choice. We work with many different manufacturers and can assist in value engineering detail designs by working with architects, engineers, and principal designers where and if appropriate.

We fully weld all of our membrane installations using our specialist thermal welding equipment. This minimises the use of tapes at joints, which increases the lifespan of the membrane to that of the building.

As per the BBA, a taped gas resistant membrane has a lifespan of approximately 25 years, compared to a fully welded membrane with a 60 to 100+ year lifespan.

Ventilation Measures

In addition to gas resistant membranes, we can advise and install passive and where require active sub-floor ventilation measures when the detail design dictates.

For more information on this, please contact one of our designers and they will be happy to assist.

Verification

Depending on the site classification and local planning conditions, ground gas protection measures need to be independently verified by a qualified verification company.

As part of our package, we can organise these visits and liaise with an independent verification/validation company.

Contractor quality Assurance

We pride ourselves on the quality of our work. As standard, we produce in house contractor quality assurance (CQA) reports for all elements of an installation.
