Cook (Damp & Decay) Ltd was the founding company of the Cook Group. This was formed on 21st August 1974 as a limited company specialising in curing all dampness and timber decay/infestation problems. We changed our name on 22nd October 2007 to Cook Group Ltd to reflect the many different aspects of preservation and waterproofing services we now offer.
We have the same company registration number now as we did when the company was formed in 1974!
If that’s not enough we are also owned by the same family that started the company.
There aren’t many preservation companies that can make that claim!
In the 43 years that we have been trading, we have developed our skills and have become leaders in all aspects of building preservation, basement conversions, Structural waterproofing, condensation control, mould removal & mould control incorporating domestic ventilation systems such as the Nuaire Drimaster range.
We at the Cook Group are truly a family business; Dave Cook has been the managing director since 1997 (succeeding Ted Cook the founder), his sister (company secretary) and wife run the office and administration.
All our surveyors are fully qualified holding the nationally recognised C.S.R.T qualification (Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatments) and the C.S.S.W qualification (Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing) thus ensuring that our surveys and advice will be of the highest standard. We are long standing members of the Property Care Association (P.C.A) formerly known as the the B.W.P.D.A.
All of our damp proofing and timber treatments are fully guaranteed by ourselves for 10 years, with the option of a 10 year insured back up guarantee offered by GPI ltd (Guarantee Protection Insurance ltd), this valuable additional cover is available for a small once only payment.
Membership of the PCA is controlled by strict criteria and is subject to a thorough vetting procedure, which ranges from good working and surveying practices, to office administration.
We are inspected and assessed by the PCA on a regular basis.
